This is ABSOLUTELY the coolest thing I've seen here at dA in awhile!

Every element of this short animation works well to create a thoughtfully dark humorous piece.

It also perfectly expresses my sentiments about reality TV! I know that you two DON'T watch television and I'm sure that reality TV is a big part of that decision.

I personally cannot understand the lure of reality TV as I generally watch television for two reasons widely separated by either end of the entertainment spectrum. I watch the news to be up to date on current events, and I watch the History Channel or the Documentary Channel (along with an occasional HBO program) for either information, uncensored comedy or simple escapist entertainment.

Reality TV is to television what romance novels are to literature. They are brainless, clichéd methods of wasting time and they seem to fall into two categories; games in which idiots vie for the attention of washed up celebrities (or each other) and the "dangerous job" category. Neither is adequate stimulus for even a moderate intellectual, but the dangerous job programs are a pet peeve of mine.

They seem to be somehow pushing the respect for various occupations by showing the mentally-fast asleep public what the drawbacks to each profession is. My answer is, so what? Who cares? If the job didn't have advantages there wouldn't be people to do them.

There are currently programs centering on the duties of policemen, exterminators, crab fishermen, meter maids, custom motorcycle builders, custom car builders, lumberjacks, parenting a large LITTER of kids, chefs and even having babies. I only wonder why sewer workers, mall security guards and mailmen have been left out.

Are we so bored with our lives that we're content to insinuate ourselves into the lives of others by means of a television camera? Whatever happened to read a book, or go outside and get some exercise, or even post a (hopefully) well-written tirade against mindless, spectator entertainment? ;)

You ain't so bad your self.

Once again, well put. Thanks, Michael!

You're welcome, and thanks for saying everything I just said in a much more palatable way. ;)

Which is, hopefully, what we've done...
Thanks, Michael!
:icondecarabia69:
Yep, you did a GREAT job of it too! :)

Nice!

Like Decarabia69 said, it packs a punch and says a lot in a short little animation.

Although I did enjoy the well written tirade.

Thanks...Neither Dawno nor I have watched television in two years...and probably never will again. (It is amazing what one can accomplish with the time taken back.)
